The 10th annual Best Dam 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, 10/08/22.

Bus shuttles will leave at 8:40am for Walkers and 9:00am for Runners, don't be late!!!!

There is NO paddle race this year.
HOW TO REGISTER:

You may register online or through paper entry. Only participants who register before 9/24/22 will receive a free race shirt. Shirts MAY NOT BE available after this date.

5K RUN or WALK
$30 for Adults (18 yrs. & over)
$20 for Children (17 yrs. & under)
15% off for group or family of 5+ (1 participant must be 18 or over)

Participants will be able to pick up their race packet the day before the race on Friday 10/7/22 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Otherwise you will receive your race packet the day of the race when you check-in. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your race start time. Late arrivals may not be able to be accommodated. No refunds will be given for any reason.

Black sweatshirts with the race logo will be this year's race swag. Will have 2022 race logo and sponsor list on it.

RACE DETAILS:
​
5K RUN or WALK PARTICIPANTS ONLY:
The start line for the road race is at the Corbett Community Hall in Corbett, NY. Please see a map of the course by clicking HERE. Buses will be used to transport participants to the start line from the registration and parking area at the American Legion Post 167. Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled bus departure time to arrive at the start line in time. There will be a shuttle at 8:40 am for 5K walker participants and at 9:00 am for 5K runner participants. We cannot guarantee you will make the start of the race if you miss the shuttle. The course will be officially timed. Runners will follow appropriate 5K signs to complete their race. The 5K will finish on Bridge Street near the Covered Bridge. Police, safety cones and signs will be alerting motorists to the race area. Color powder areas are located every 0.5 miles along the 5K portion of the course. No dogs are allowed on the buses and you must self-transport to the start line if you bring your pup(s).
The color powder shows up best on both white and dark colored clothing. We do recommend not wearing anything you don't mind being stained as we've had mixed results getting it completely out of clothing. Don't worry, we are health freaks and the colors used are non-toxic.

Strollers are welcome. Children in strollers are FREE and do not need to register for the race. Large strollers will not fit on the bus and need to be dropped off at the start line at the Corbett Community Hall before you head to the Legion to park and register for the race.

Young children not registered for the race must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
​
Dogs are allowed! All dogs must pay a $5 entry fee which will be donated to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society. All animals need to be current on their vaccinations and owners are responsible for their dog at all times. Please do not bring a dog to race who has not walked or ran 3 miles easily in the past. Water stations and waste disposal will be present for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on the bus and you must arrange your own transport to the start line in Corbett. Snacks and drinks will be provided at the end of the race for all participants. A FREE BEER will be offered to all participants over 21 this year!

Be sure to visit the the Antique Car Show going on this Saturday at the Downsville Central School. There will be vendors at the Downsville Fire Hall for Maple Leaf Festival this weekend too!
